Since 1998, I have built a strong career in wordcraft and international corporate communications. After being nationally recognized in Canadian magazine journalism, I moved to Japan in 2002 to help build the bridges of communication between Japan and the West. In the mid-2000s, a stint at Toyota Motor Corporation's Intl. Public Affairs Division in Tokyo added to my growing experience.
Now working under my own company umbrella since 2007, I maintain full human control, orchestration, and oversight of every project from start to finish. This approach ensures uncompromising quality, cultural nuance, and protection of reputation and market value while minimizing corporate legal, ethical, regulatory, and reputational risk exposure. Client materials are handled under strict confidentiality and Zero-Data-Retention protocols. I use only secure, paid enterprise-grade AI tools and CAT tools (Trados, Phrase, memoQ, etc.) as third-party processors, with manual masking of sensitive information. Client assets are never fed into public consumer AI models. Every stage is under full human control, orchestration, and oversight, with complete human review and transformation from start to finish.
4. Data Retention
Project files are retained only as long as necessary to complete the work and for a reasonable/as-directed archiving period. Upon request, I can delete project materials after delivery.
5. International Data Transfers & GDPR
While based in Japan, for clients in the EU/EEA, I ensure GDPR-compliant processing. Appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are applied where required.
